While inflation is skyrocketing, on the one hand, 35 paise is no longer worth it. But IRCTC is giving you insurance cover of up to ₹10 lakhs at a premium of about zero of 35 paise. In fact, people have the option to choose 'Yatra Bima' while booking train tickets through the IRCTC portal. If you use the option at the time of booking your train, travel insurance will apply to all people booked under a PNR.

Only Indian citizens who book tickets through the IRCTC portal or mobile app will be eligible to buy insurance cover. According to the portal of IRCTC, the policy includes 'death due to travelling,' permanent complete disability, permanent partial disability and hospital expenses for transportation of injured and mortal remains.

The maximum cover is up to Rs. 10 lakhs:-
The maximum cover of this policy is up to Rs. 10 lakh, in which you will be given a cover of Rs. ₹7 for permanent partial disability. 5 lakh will be provided. Coverage of Rs ₹2 lakh will be provided for the cost of hospitalization for injury. Up to 10,000 coverage will be provided for the transportation of mortal remains.
