New Delhi: You may need to spend more to travel on a train in the coming days. Train tickets are going to be costlier. The increase in the price of train tickets will come into force soon. A report by news agency PTI has claimed this.

"Railway passengers may have to pay additional fares ranging from Rs 10 to Rs 35 for the redevelopment of stations," sources. The proposal is being finalized by the Railways which will be sent to the Cabinet soon for approval. Sources further said that the fare is increasing due to user charges. The railways had earlier made it clear that user charges would be charged only for stations that are being redeveloped and where the number of passengers is high.

In the past, railways had reported that out of a total of 7,000 stations across the country, about 700 to 1000 stations fall under this category. In fact, user charges are charged in exchange for the feature. The airport charge is added to the air ticket. This means that the price you pay for the air ticket is linked to the user charge.
