New Delhi: Petrol and diesel prices have not been changed on Saturday, but oil marketing companies may again cut petrol and diesel prices in the coming days with crude oil softening in the international market. Benchmark crude oil Brent crude has fallen more than 7.5 per cent to 39 dollars a barrel in four consecutive days.

Energy experts point out that the price of crude oil in the international market has been softening for the past one month due to the havoc of the corona epidemic and brent crude has broken about five dollars a barrel. The softening of crude oil has brought down diesel prices by Rs 2.93 per litre in the national capital in September last month and also in October, consumers have been relieved of the price of diesel. A day earlier, diesel prices have been cut by 15 paise to 18 paise per litre in four major metros of the country.

However, according to Indian Oil's website, diesel prices in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai remained steady at Rs 70.46, Rs 73.99, Rs 76.86 and Rs 75.95 per litre respectively on Saturday. Petrol prices in the above four metros are also steady at Rs 81.06, Rs 82.59, Rs 87.74 and Rs 84.14 per litre respectively.
