Indian player Mahesh Mangaonkar is training with the Finland national team in Helsinki due to the suspension of the professional squash tour till at least 15 August. World number 49 Mangaonkar was in the Netherlands when he was offered to become a 'sparring' partner with his national team of the Finland Squash Federation. After the Coronavirus related regulations were relaxed in Finland, he restored his training in Helsinki and has now settled there. The Mumbai-born player did a lot of work on his fitness in lockdown.

He told PTI, "During the lockdown, I was busy figuring out what job I could do when my squash career was over and I found that the science behind fitness and training of this sport I am very fond of."

He said, "I have been studying for the 'Mixed Modal Movement Program' exam since February which has training information for special sports events like tennis, swimming, squash, badminton and hockey." Mangaonkar said, "Currently I am a certified fitness trainer and I am working as a 'Sport Performance Coach".
