Chennai FC are scheduled to play FC Goa in Chennai on February 29 in the first leg of the first semi-final of the Indian Super League. Football Sports Development Limited on Wednesday announced the schedule of the league's playoffs, which are to be played in two phases. Defending champions Bengaluru FC will take on ATK for a place in the final on March 14, while Chennaiyin FC will face FC Goa. In the first phase, FC Goa and Chennai teams will face face-to-face in Chennai on February 29, while Bengaluru and ATK teams will clash in Bengaluru on March 1.
The second leg match will be played in Goa on March 7 and Kolkata on March 8. The finals are going to be held in Goa. The organizers announced that the team with more goals based on the total score in both the stage matches will make it to the finals.
If the score is equal after two steps, the rule of scoring goals will be applied on the opponent's field and the team with more goals on the opponent's ground will qualify for the final. If the goals of both the teams remain equal on the opponent's ground, then the match of the second phase will be played in extra time and the team with the most goals will win the semi-finals. If both teams do not score a goal in extra time or score an equal number of goals, a penalty shootout will be taken for the result.
