Rookie vs.Giant scenario in the early rounds of Nation based grand slam –Davis Cup. India's clash with Spain in the Davis Cup World Group Play-off could be put in the same bracket as the R K Khanna stadium gets ready to witness tennis 'Galacticos' Rafal Nadal and David Ferrer take on Saketh Myneni and Ramkumar Ramanthan for a berth in the main draw beginning Friday.

On the eve of the Friday's singles clashes, if you were into punting, you would only get Re 1 back for every Rs 100 bet on Nadal or Ferrer (odds are 1100). A look at the draw tells you why - world No. 4 Nadal will open the tie against No. 203 Ramkumar Ramnathan and No. 13 Ferrer faces No. 119 Saketh Myneni. More than numbers on the paper, Ramnathan and Myneni's lack of big match experience is what stacks up the odds hugely against the home side.

Take 21-year-old Ramnathan - the Indian has a 4-6 win-loss record on the ATP circuit, and will be up against a 14-time Grand Slam champion. His last win at the ATP level came against a relatively unknown player called Australia's Luke Saville in Lexington, Kentucky (US)

Myneni said- “We are going in as underdogs for sure. It could really be a ugly match or it really be great match”.
