Air travel within India increased by 9% compared to last year, reaching a total of 12.7 million passengers, data provided by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, the country's aviation regulator, reads.

SpiceJet, a prominent airline, saw the highest passenger capacity usage or load factor, hitting 90.8% in November, up from 90.1% in October. Meanwhile, IndiGo, the largest airline in India, had a passenger load factor of 85.6%, showing an increase from 83.3% in the previous month.
IndiGo dominated the market share with 61.8% in November, followed by Air India at 10.5%. SpiceJet's market share also increased to 6.2% from 5% in October, thanks to adding more aircraft on lease.
Among the airlines, Akasa Air, India's youngest airline, stood out as the most punctual in November, achieving an on-time performance of 78.2%. Conversely, SpiceJet experienced the lowest punctuality, recording only 41.8% on-time performance during the same period.
