Harnaaz Sandhu of India has become the new Miss Universe 2021. 21 years after Lara Dutta won the title in the year 2000, 21-year-old Harnaaz from Punjab has won the title. Harnaaz was representing India at the 70th Miss Universe 2021 held in Eilat, Israel and Harnaaz defeated contestants from Paraguay and South Africa in the final round to be crowned Miss Universe.

 

 

Harnaaz Sandhu has issued a statement after the victory. In this statement, she expressed gratitude to all the people of India and those who supported her. In the statement, she said, "I am very grateful to the Almighty, my parents, and the Miss India organization for guiding and supporting me. Lots of love to all those who pray and wish me the Crown. For me, it is a proud moment for me to bring back the glorious crown to India after 21 years. You can see Harnaaz wearing the Crown of Miss Universe 2021 in this video. She looks very happy. She says in this video, "Namaste, Satsrikal, thank you to each of you for supporting me from day one and believing in me. It's time to save the Universe. Let's save together. Thank you and love you".

Harnaaz, a resident of Chandigarh, who is pursuing an MA in public administration, was crowned by Andrea Meja of Miss Universe Mexico last year. Nadia Ferreira (Paraguay's Nadia Ferreira), 22, from Paraguay, finished second, while Lalela Mswane (South Africa's Lalela Mswane), 24, from South Africa, finished third.
