Delhi: ISRO is constantly engaged in setting new records in space. One more achievement is going to be added to this list. ISRO can launch Chandrayaan 3 in 2021. Union Minister Jitendra Singh himself has given information about this on Sunday. Unlike Chandrayaan-2, it has been said about not having an 'orbiter', but yes it can have a 'lander' and a 'rover'. In September last year, after the 'hard landing' of Chandrayaan-2 on the lunar surface, ISRO had planned another mission for the last months of this year.
Meanwhile, the coronavirus pandemic affected several ISRO projects and delayed the mission Chandrayaan-3. Now a statement issued quoting Jitendra Singh said, "As far as Chandrayaan-3 is concerned, it is likely to be launched in 2021. Chandrayaan-3 will be a re-mission of Chandrayaan-2 and will have a lander and a rover like Chandrayaan-2".
Apart from this, Jitendra Singh also said that "ISRO's first lunar mission has sent some pictures which show that the poles of the moon look like rust. NASA scientists say that it is possible that the Earth's environment is also protecting the Moon". It would be great to see when Chandrayaan 3 will be launched.
