India's Navy Celebrates Launch of 'Drishti 10 Starliner' - Nation's First Made-in-India Drone

Adani Defence and Aerospace unveiled the 'Drishti 10 Starliner,' a cutting-edge Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) crafted in India, marking a significant stride in indigenous defense technology. The ceremony, graced by Admiral R Hari Kumar, Chief of the Naval Staff, witnessed the presence of 75 Navy personnel.

This state-of-the-art UAV, designed for the Indian Navy, commenced its journey from Hyderabad to Porbandar, symbolizing its integration into the naval operations. Admiral Hari Kumar praised Adani's commitment to aligning their strategies with the specific requirements of the Indian Navy. He acknowledged their efforts in fostering self-reliance in defense and security by establishing collaborative ecosystems and capabilities.

Admiral Kumar remarked, "This marks a pivotal moment in India's quest for self-reliance in ISR technology and maritime dominance. Adani's systematic approach in developing local capabilities, not just in manufacturing but also in Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO), is commendable. The induction of Drishti 10 will bolster our naval capabilities, enhancing our preparedness for evolving maritime surveillance."

Jeet Adani, Vice President of Adani Enterprises, highlighted the significance of intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance platforms for national defense. He expressed pride in serving the Indian Navy while aiming to position India as a global exporter in this domain.

According to an official statement by Adani, the 'Drishti 10 Starliner' represents a state-of-the-art Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) platform with impressive features. It boasts a remarkable endurance of 36 hours, a payload capacity of 450 kg, and the distinction of being the sole all-weather military platform with STANAG 4671 certification. Additionally, it has authorization for flight in both segregated and unsegregated airspace.

The 'Drishti 10 Starliner' stands as India's pioneering domestically developed UAV, crafted based on the Elbits Hermes 900 MALE (Medium Altitude Long Range) platform, marking a significant milestone in the country's defense technology landscape.
