India's Paralympic Heroes Receive Warm Welcome in Delhi

NEW DELHI: Indian Paralympic athletes were met with an enthusiastic reception as they arrived at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport, following their remarkable performance at the Paris Paralympics.

On Saturday morning, a significant portion of the Indian team returned home after their participation in the games. Among those arriving were star athletes Avani Lekhara, Mona Agarwal, Pranav Soorma, Rakesh Kumar, and Manish Narwal. Fans gathered in large numbers to celebrate their achievements, showering the athletes with flower petals.

The remaining members of the Indian contingent will return after the conclusion of the multi-sport event.

Avani Lekhara, a standout shooter, expressed her satisfaction with the journey. "It has been a great experience, and we have won many medals this time," she said. Lekhara continued her success streak by clinching gold in the women's 10m air rifle final, making history as the first Indian woman to win two gold medals in the Paralympics.

Mona Agarwal, who won bronze in the same event, shared her positive sentiments about her debut Paralympic experience. "I am feeling very good receiving so much love... My first Paralympic journey has been excellent," she remarked.

Para-archer Rakesh Kumar also praised his coaches for their support. "I am feeling very good... The credit for my victory goes to my coaches. We will continue to work hard and aim for better performance in the next Paralympics," Kumar said.
