Cuban athlete Guillermo, with a throw of 66.14 meters, won the gold.

In a statement, President Murmu praised their dedication and expressed pride in their accomplishments. She also congratulated Sharad Kumar and Mariyappan Thangavelu for their performances in the men's high jump. President Murmu emphasized that these achievements showcase sustained excellence and serve as an inspiration to athletes striving for international success. She commended the athletes for their contributions to India's growing medal tally at the Paralympics.

India's Paralympic team has made history in Paris, surpassing their previous record of 19 medals from the Tokyo 2020 Games. The Indian contingent has now secured 20 medals, including three gold, seven silver, and ten bronze, with more events yet to come.

This year's games have seen India send its largest-ever Paralympic team, comprising 84 athletes across 12 sports. This significant increase in participation reflects the country's expanding commitment to para-sports and its growing medal prospects.
