India's Stance on UNGA Resolution Amid Israel-Gaza Conflict

In a pivotal development at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), India has chosen to abstain from voting on a resolution calling for a 'humanitarian truce' in the ongoing Israel-Gaza conflict. The conflict has escalated in recent days, with Israel intensifying its military operations in the Gaza Strip.

Israel's heightened offensive in Gaza has resulted in a significant disruption of internet and communication services in the region, according to reports. The Israeli military's actions have had a profound impact on the daily lives of Gaza's inhabitants.

Simultaneously, the Palestinian militant group, Hamas, declared its readiness to respond forcefully to Israeli attacks. As Israel expands its air and ground operations within the Palestinian enclave, tensions continue to mount.

Hamas, which governs the Gaza Strip, had previously reported that its fighters were engaged in clashes with Israeli troops near the border with Israel. This response from Hamas came as a reaction to Israel's reports of escalated attacks in Gaza.

During a televised news briefing on Friday evening, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, the Israeli military spokesperson, announced, "In addition to the attacks carried out in the last few days, ground forces are expanding their operations tonight."

Furthermore, in a heartfelt plea, Hamas called upon the international community, Arab and Muslim nations, to intervene urgently and put an end to Israel's bombardment of Gaza. The relentless airstrikes have inflicted severe damage on the Palestinian territory and caused substantial suffering to its residents.

The Hamas government also reported that Israel had severed communications and disrupted most internet services across the Gaza Strip on Friday. According to the government's media office, this action was taken to facilitate what they described as "retaliatory strikes from the air, land, and sea," as heavy Israeli bombardments pounded northern Gaza.

AFP journalists on the ground in Gaza corroborated these claims, noting that their ability to communicate had been severely restricted, with only limited connectivity in areas where they could connect to Israeli networks across the border. The situation in Gaza remains extremely volatile, with the international community closely watching developments in the region.
