NEW DELHI: Starting Monday, July 22, IndiGo flights from Pune to Delhi will begin operating from the airport’s new terminal. The Pune Airport announced this update, noting that the new terminal has been in use since July 14 for flights to New Delhi and Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
In a social media post, Pune Airport shared, “Attention passengers! From July 22, 2024, @PuneAirport will transfer some IndiGo flights between Pune and Delhi to the New Integrated Terminal Building.” The affected IndiGo flights include 6E-2618, 6E-2418, 6E-2343, 6E-2419, 6E-2471, 6E-5261, 6E-2273, 6E-2278, 6E-2674, and 6E-2279.
Key Features of Pune's New Terminal
The new terminal, designed to enhance the passenger experience, spans 52,000 square meters and is equipped to handle up to 9 million passengers each year. This is a notable increase from the existing terminal's 22,000 square meters and 7 million passenger capacity.
Modern amenities at the new terminal include ten aerobridges, centralized air-conditioning, and five baggage carousels, two of which are for international arrivals. It also offers 34 check-in counters and 25 self-check-in kiosks.
The 51,595-square-meter terminal, costing ₹423 crore, features murals that celebrate the region's culture and heritage. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new terminal via video conferencing on March 10. The first flights from the new terminal were Air India’s AI-858 to New Delhi and Air India Express’ I5 320 to Bhubaneswar.
