A Varanasi-bound IndiGo flight from Bangalore made an emergency landing at Shamshabad Airport in Telangana today, April 4,  morning due to a technical glitch, said the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

Flight number 6E897 from Bangalore had 137 passengers onboard when it made an emergency landing in Telangana at 6.15 am Tuesday. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation informed that all 137 passengers are safe, as per reports.

The Indian civil aviation regulator's statement read as follows:   “Varanasi-bound IndiGo Flight (6E897) from Bangalore having 137 passengers on-board made an emergency landing, due to technical issues, at Shamshabad Airport in Telangana at 6.15 am today morning. All passengers are safe"

The incident comes two after a full emergency landing was announced on Saturday after a FedEx flight FX5279 was hit by a bird soon after its take off. The flight landed intact and took off again. The Dubai-bound aircraft was operated by FedEx, and while bird-hit incidents are common, many passenger flights from Delhi Airport were diverted in the last few days because of bad weather.
