Indore: Fringerprint Time attendance System in DAVV University

The empty classrooms and irregular teachers made the Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) of Indore to introduce an easy way to keep a record of absent and duty shirker teachers via biometric system of attendance.

“The basic purpose behind this introduction is to streamline the overall functioning of the university,” vice-chancellor Narendra Dhakkar said.

The Madhya Pradesh government’s move to switch attendance in its colleges to biometric system has failed to take off despite the department of higher education’s (DHE) setting deadlines for them to install the machines.

The biometric system digitally records a person’s finger print and marks him present with date and time when he puts the same finger into the machine scanner, department officials said.

“However, the system is already in place in the department of higher education (DHE) across government colleges.

But this time the plan behind the introduction of this system is for university teaching department (UTD) for teaching and non-teaching staff members,” he said
