Swachh Surevekshan 2019, the cleanest city of the country for two consecutive years Indore has made HATRICK this year. Indore is leading by setting an example for other to follow. The city is currently focusing on beautification. Ahead of Swachh Survekshan, the plain walls of the city saw various types of artworks promoting messages like importance of agriculture, the heritage of Madhya Pradesh, water conservation and even the city’s goal to go for hat-trick in Swachh Survekshan. President Ramnath Kovind will give this award in the program organized at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Indore is the third time the title of the cleanest city in the country to meet this festival. In the rehearsal on Tuesday, the first name was also called Indore. This year's award is to be given to the President. The official announcement will be on Wednesday at 11 a.m.

For Madhya Pradesh, agriculture is the lifeline of the state as three-fourth of the population is dependent on agriculture or other agro related activities for their livelihood as was depicted on the walls of Palasiya. These artworks depict the importance of agriculture in India’s economy. According to the report Agriculture Role On Indian Economy, agriculture employs 50 per cent of India’s work force and accounts for 18 per cent of the country Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Water conservation is an important cause being promoted in another set of artwork through the city. According to a report by WaterAid, ground water provides 80 per cent of India’s drinking water and about two third of the water for irrigation purpose. The walls represent the importance of ground water.

‘Swachhta ki Hat-trick’ is not only a tag line for Indore, but is also an emerging theme all over the city. Citizens and local body are being vigilant to ensure cleanliness and live up to its swachh credentials.
