A youth belonging to Indore was arrested for allegedly abducting and sexually harassing a 15-year-old girl in Khajrana area on Tuesday. The accused had taken the girl on the promise of marriage and later he raped her.

The police are investigating the case further. Khajrana police station in-charge Dinesh Verma said that father of the victim had lodged a complaint on September 14 that his daughter was missing from home. He said in his complaint that the family members have searched her everywhere in the area and relatives’ place but they could not find her. At that time, the complainant had suspected that his daughter had been abducted by someone.

The police registered a case under section 363 of the IPC. During the investigation, the police collected information about the girl and managed to recover her from a place. She stated in her statement that she was abducted by her relative named Sajjan on the promise of marriage.
