JABALPUR: Two coaches of the Indore-Jabalpur Overnight Express derailed near Jabalpur Railway Station in Madhya Pradesh early on Saturday morning. The incident occurred around 5:50 am, approximately 150 meters from the station's platform number six.

Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported, as the train was moving at a slow speed. According to a railway official, the train was nearing the platform at a "dead-stop" speed when the derailment occurred. All passengers are safe, and they were able to leave for their homes soon after the incident.

Harshit Shrivastava, the Chief Public Relations Officer of West Central Railway, confirmed that the derailment happened at very low speed, ensuring the safety of everyone on board. He added, "The train was approaching platform number six when two coaches derailed. Thankfully, all passengers are unharmed, and the train was moving at a very slow pace."

The cause of the derailment is yet to be determined, and an investigation is underway.

In a similar incident earlier in August, 22 coaches of the Sabarmati Express derailed between Kanpur and Bhimsen stations in Uttar Pradesh. Reports suggest that the train’s engine struck an object placed on the track, causing it to derail. Thankfully, no injuries were reported in that incident as well.
