Intel has launched its Core Ultra 200V series processors, also known as Lunar Lake, in India, just eight days after their global release. This marks the second-generation of Intel's AI-equipped processors, following the Meteor Lake series introduced in December 2023. The Core Ultra 200V series boasts significant AI acceleration capabilities, offering a total of 67 trillion operations per second (TOPS). Notably, Lunar Lake is Intel’s first processor to feature the Microsoft Copilot+ label.
Availability of Intel Core Ultra 200V Lunar Lake Series in India
The Intel Core Ultra 200V Lunar Lake series laptops are available for pre-order starting September 12 on various retail platforms, including Amazon, Croma, Flipkart, Reliance Digital, and Vijay Sales. The devices will be available for purchase from September 24. The series includes products from leading manufacturers such as Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, MSI, and Samsung.
Key Features of the Intel Core Ultra 200V Lunar Lake Series
Intel's new processors are equipped with the latest Xe2 graphics architecture, promising up to 30 times better performance in mobile graphics creation. The lineup features nine new laptop processors with eight CPU cores and up to eight GPU cores.
The Intel Arc graphics processing units (GPUs) in this series include eight second-generation Xe cores, eight advanced ray tracing units, and support for up to three 4K displays. The processors are powered by the Intel Xe Matrix Extensions AI engine, delivering up to 67 TOPS in performance. Intel claims that Lunar Lake processors offer 68% better graphics performance compared to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite chipset.
For development, Intel collaborated with independent software vendors (ISVs) to optimize over 500 AI models, ensuring that devices equipped with these processors can fully utilize AI capabilities.
The Core Ultra 200V series processors feature four Lion Cove performance cores and four Skymont performance cores. They support up to 32GB LPDDR5X RAM and deliver a combined total of 120 TOPS across CPU (5 TOPS), GPU (48 TOPS), and NPU (67 TOPS).
Connectivity options for the new processors include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 (with LE Audio), and Gigabit Ethernet. Devices with Intel Lunar Lake processors can also feature up to three Thunderbolt 4 ports, six USB 2.0 ports, and two USB 3.0 ports.
