Microsoft has unveiled significant updates to its 365 Copilot, bringing a host of new AI-driven tools to Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook. The latest enhancements aim to boost productivity and collaboration within enterprise environments.
One of the standout features is Copilot Pages, which offers a shared, interactive space for real-time collaboration. This tool allows users to work together on projects, with both human input and AI assistance refining the content. Users can start Copilot with a command, and it generates a new page that functions similarly to a Word document, supporting tables, text, links, and images. The feature, currently in beta with select businesses, is expected to be widely available later this month.
Excel now supports Python integration, enabling users to perform complex tasks such as forecasting and risk assessments using natural language commands. This feature is designed to make advanced data analysis accessible even to those without coding skills and is already available for public testing.
PowerPoint introduces the Narrative Builder, a tool that helps users create an initial draft of a presentation with a single command. This tool generates a structured outline that can be edited, and future updates will allow users to attach files to enhance the draft further.
Microsoft Teams has been updated to provide more accurate transcripts by integrating spoken and written conversations, while Outlook now features a Prioritization tool to help users manage urgent emails more effectively.
Additionally, Microsoft is rolling out Copilot Agents, customizable mini chatbots designed to automate specific tasks. These agents operate independently, processing tasks without constant input and are tailored to provide relevant results based on unique datasets.
