Every year on December 10th, the International Community commemorates the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948. The Declaration was proclaimed a "shared standard of achievement for all peoples and all nations" by the General Assembly, and individuals and organisations were encouraged to "strive by progressive measures, national and international, to guarantee their universal and effective acceptance and observance."
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights outlines a broad range of fundamental rights and freedoms to which we are all entitled. It protects the rights of all people worldwide, regardless of their nationality, domicile, gender, national or ethnic origin, religion, language, or any other status.
"Equality, Reducing Inequalities, Promoting Human Rights" is the topic for Human Rights Day 2021. The theme for this year's Human Rights Day is 'Equality,' as stated in Article 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: "All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights." Every woman, man, and kid has a fundamental human right to education. Despite this, millions of people do not have access to this right, and it is infringed on a daily basis.
The Human Rights Council is made up of 47 elected United Nations Member States who are tasked with preventing inequalities, abuses, and discrimination, as well as protecting the most vulnerable and punishing those who violate human rights.
On this day, it is to be recalled that we are all empowered by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. We must fight for our own rights as well as the rights of others. We may take action in our daily lives to defend the rights that protect us all and, as a result, foster human brotherhood.
