NY: The International Solar Alliance (ISA) has been given Observer Status by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). This has announced by India's Permanent Representative to the UN, T S Tirumurti. Tirumurti described the move as "historic," saying "ISA has become an example of constructive global climate action through collaborations to promote global energy growth and development."
"The United Nations General Assembly made the historic decision today to grant the International Solar Alliance Observer Status. In just six years, the International Solar Alliance has established itself as a model for good global climate action through collaborations that promote global energy growth and development. Please accept my heartfelt gratitude on behalf of all Member States "Tirumurti sent out a tweet. The International Solar Alliance (ISA) conducted its fourth general assembly earlier this month.
The Assembly drew a total of 108 countries, with 74 Member Countries, 34 Observer and Prospective Countries, 23 Partner Organizations, and 33 Special Invitee Organizations in attendance.
