New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Tuesday (May 18) stayed the lower court's hearing in the CBI's INX media corruption case, related to senior Congress leader and former Union minister P Chidambaram and his son Karti. Justice Suresh Kumar Kait issued notices to Chidambaram and others on CBI's plea against the lower court order and sought their response. Tell me, the lower court had ordered the accused to give papers

The CBI had registered a case on May 15, 2017. The case relates to allegations of irregularities in sanctioning foreign investment promotion board (FIPB) to INX media group in 2007 during Chidambaram's tenure as Finance Minister for receiving foreign funds worth Rs 305 crore. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had then registered a money laundering case.

Karti was arrested by CBI in February 2018 in the case and was granted bail in the INX media corruption case in March 2018. He was also granted interim bail by the Delhi High Court in the money laundering case. However, the court has now issued a notice back to him and asked for a reply.
