There is an atmosphere of anger in the country after Chinese soldiers killed 20 Indian soldiers in Ladakh. Now the voices of the boycott of Chinese products once again rising in the country. If this happens, it will have a profound impact on Indian sports, especially cricket, whose contracts are mostly with Chinese companies.

Indian Olympic Association (IOA) General Secretary Rajiv Mehta has said that the country comes first. Treasurer Anandeshwar Pandey said that it is his personal suggestion that the IOA should end its sponsorship with Li-Ning. This company sponsors the kit of the Indian contingent at the Tokyo Olympics.

Pandey said that it is my personal opinion that IOA should immediately end its sponsorship with Li-Ning. This is the time when we should boycott China and its products. I respect the sentiments of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and I think the IOA will decide on this in the annual general meeting. Mehta further said that Li-Ning is a Chinese brand and has an agreement with the Tokyo Olympics.  This will be considered in the annual general meeting. No decision will be taken at a personal level. They are sponsors of the kit in our Olympics, but for us, our country comes first. However, IOA signed an agreement with Li-Ning in May 2018. According to this agreement, the company will sponsor the players' clothes, shoes.
