MUMBAI: The 11th season of the 2018 Indian Premier League (IPL) commenced on Saturday. A lip-smacking fight between defending champions Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super King is underway at the Wankhede Stadium.

Chennai Super King won the toss and chose to ball.

Chennai Super Kings have the better head to head record against every IPL team except three times champion Mumbai Indians, who lead 13 wins to 11 losses in total of 24 meetings between the two teams. Even in IPL finals, the Mumbai franchise holds the impressive 2-1 edge over the Chennai franchise. Chennai Super Kings have won just four of their ten meetings with Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium.

Spectators enjoyed the greatest battle between MI vs CSK in this tournament. Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians has played 3-time IPL final against each other in which two times MI has beaten CSK.
