New Delhi: All-rounder Glenn Maxwell has become the fourth most expensive player in IPL history. He has been bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 14.25 crore. Prior to Maxwell, Yuvraj Singh-16 crore, Pat Cummins-15.5 crores and Ben Stokes-145 crores are included in this list. Maxwell could not hit a single six in IPL 2020. His performance was extremely embarrassing throughout the season. Even after this, the teams again bid fiercely on him.

The teams saw a tremendous battle between Glenn Maxwell, the Australian player with 2 crores base price. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) started bidding for him. After which RCB also made a big bid on Maxwell, then KKR pulled his hand back. After this, there was a tremendous tussle over Maxwell in RCB and CSK, but in the end, RCB has bought Glenn Maxwell for Rs 14.25 crores.

KKR bought Shakib Al Hasan of Bangladesh for Rs 3.2 crores. He can prove useful to the team as a left-arm spin bowler. The base price of Shakib is 2 crores. He did not play IPL due to the ban last year. Former Australia captain Steve Smith was bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs 2.20 crore.
