Iranian plane arrives in Saudi Arabia to relocate evacuees from Sudan

Jeddah: On Saturday, a plane from Iran touched down at the King Abdullah Air Base to fly 65 Saudi Arabian evacuees back to Iran.

Iranians and people of other nationalities were among the people saved; they had arrived in Jeddah on a Saudi ship early on Saturday morning from Sudan.

After safely disembarking at the Saudi port, the evacuation's passengers will be flown to Iran by the aircraft.

In other news on Saturday, a ship carrying 20 Saudi citizens and 1,866 people from other nations arrived in Jeddah, marking the largest evacuation from Sudan since Saudi Arabia began its operations.

With the latest wave of arrivals, there have now been 4,879 evacuees overall since the start of the Kingdom's mission, including 139 Saudi citizens and 4,738 people from other nations.
