ISLAMABAD: On Monday, Iranian Interior Minister Ahmed Vahidi arrived in Islamabad for a day-long visit to meet with senior Pakistani government officials and address key issues concerning Pakistan-Iran relations.

Vahidi was met by Pakistan's Interior Minister, Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed. Vahidi and his nine-member group will meet Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan and hold significant meetings with senior government officials, according to information.

The Iranian minister will meet with Prime Minister Imran Khan and other government officials during his day-long visit, according to a statement released by the Federal Ministry of Interior.

"Vahidi and Pakistani authorities will address matters like as border control and prisoner exchanges," the statement continued.

In October of last year, Pakistan and Iran agreed to form a special committee to oversee the proper implementation of a prisoner exchange agreement. Border management, particularly in relation to cross-border movement of banned outfits and human trafficking, for which the Pakistan-Iran border is frequently used by traffickers to bring people from Pakistan into Iran and transport them to Turkey and Europe via a managed and active network of agents.
