Explosion near Baghdad's football ground, one dead and four injured

Baghdad: A civilian was killed and 13 people are said to be injured in a bomb blast near a football field in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq. An official of the Ministry of Interior has given information in this regard. On condition of anonymity, a source told the local news agency that a bike exploded near a local football ground in Sadar City, east of Baghdad, on Wednesday evening, killing one civilian and injuring four people.

The source said that the Iraqi Security Force has cordoned off the area and started investigating the case. No organization has claimed responsibility for the attack. Although the security situation in the country has changed dramatically since the Iraqi security forces defeated Islamic State militants at the end of 2017, there have been sporadic attacks in the war-torn country.

Six people died in the explosions in various areas of Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, late last night. Medical and safety sources gave information in this regard. These blasts took place at a time when anti-government protests are taking place in the capital of Iraq and it's turbulent south.
