It’s very rare that people from privileged backgrounds get out of their comfort zone and work for the betterment of other people. One person who broke out of that mindset is the IRS officer Sahil Seth. Ever since he was a kid, Sahil wanted to help people and do something to help the society. He was inspired by people who had the power to bring positive changes and made up his mind to do the same.

Sahil was born with a silver spoon and is extremely pampered by his family and seeing someone like him working in civil services only serves as an inspiration to others across India. He joined the Indian revenue services as he felt that it was a great opportunity for him to connect with people and serve them.

When asked about why he chose to join IRS, Sahil shares, “Tax collection is the integral duty of the government, to execute the tax laws of the country is a big and challenging responsibility. To me, IRS seemed like an inspiring work profile which could provide me with career growth as well as help me contribute to the nation.”

In 2020, he was appointed the honorary advisor to the steering committee for BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) from 2020 to 2030, which is an association of five major national economies: India, China, Brazil, Russia, and South Africa founded in 2009. Needless to say, Sahil serves as an inspiration to the younger generation of the country who want to get into the civil services
