When Sidharth Malhotra declared itself officially single status after his supposed to break-up with Alia Bhatt, our hearts skipped a beat. After all, the Student of the Year star couple did look cute together. Reports were that the couple cracks because of Sidharth's closeness to Bollywood diva, Jaqueline Fernandez but recent reports suggest that might not be the case.

According to an India.com report, amidst Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra's rivalry, Alia's friendship with Dhawan is the  real reason that the couple decided to end their relationship, that Sidharth, who made his debut with Varun and Alia in Karan Johar's Student of the Year is jealous of the latter's upcoming series of interesting films.  

Further, the report suggests that Sidharth was upset when Alia gave Varun a lot of attention during the Dream Team tour. And well, let's face it, Alia and Varun looked absolutely adorable in Shashank Khaitan's Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya.  “Sidharth didn’t like the idea of Alia and Varun being paired opposite each other repeatedly. He also protested about this but Alia didn’t let her beau’s professional insecurities affect her personal relationships within the industry. To add insult to injury, Alia’s friendship with Varun offscreen was something that Sidharth couldn’t approve of or handle and that caused the two to finally part ways.”
