Bengaluru have gained 25 points from 14 matches and have overtaken two-time champions ATK (24) to take first place. Bengaluru had lost to Mumbai in their last match. On the other hand, after winning four consecutive matches, forced to lose, Odisha FC remain in fourth place with 21 points from 14 matches.

Desperate to reach the top, the defending champion finished the first half with 2–0, scoring two goals in the first half at two-minute intervals. The first goal of the match was scored by Deshorn Brown in the 23rd minute while Rahul Bheke scored the second goal. After eating two goals, Odisha FC were forced to make two changes. Two of his biggest players, Adrian Santana and Marcos Tabar, went out and were replaced by Simigmang Manchong and Diwandu Diengay. After the submission of these two, the return of Odisha became very difficult. Bengaluru got a penalty in the 60th minute, scoring on which captain Sunil Chhetri put Bangalore ahead 3–0. Bengaluru got this penalty on the error of Martin Guides. This is Chhetri's ninth goal of the season. He has come on par with Odisha FC's Santana in scoring the most goals.

Let us tell you that the Bangalore team did not listen even after this and made another attack in the 64th minute, but this time Arshdeep Singh saved Odisha FC from eating the fourth goal. In the next 10 minutes, there were some efforts from both the teams but none could reach the end. Chhetri received a yellow card in the 82nd minute for wrongly demanding a penalty.
