Kabul: On Saturday, Russian media reported that the Islamic State claimed responsibility for two recent bombings in Kabul, citing Afghan broadcaster News. "A car bomb exploded at the Iraqi police recruiting centre in Kisak, killing at least two people and wounded three others," said Saeed Khosti of the Interior Ministry, according to media reports.

Separate bomb explosions in the west of Afghanistan's capital Kabul killed two people and injured four others on Friday, according to the Taliban administration.

According to the Taliban's interior ministry spokesman Sayed Khosti, "two people were killed and three others were injured" after a bomb burst on a minibus in Kabul's Dasht-e-Barchi area. "One woman was injured in another explosion in the same place," he continued, indicating that the second blow was also a bomb.

Since the Taliban's takeover in mid-August, Islamic-State-affiliated militants have conducted several bomb attacks in Kabul and other locations.
