Srinagar: People from the non-Muslim communities have been killed through target killing in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir for the past few days and two Hindus have been killed in the last three days. Bank manager Vijay Kumar was shot dead by militants in the Aareh area of Kulgam district on Thursday. Terror outfit TRF has claimed responsibility for the killing of manager Vijay and said it will kill more Hindus. Let us know that since May 1, eight cases of killing people have been registered in the Valley.

Earlier, the Jammu and Kashmir unit of the Congress on Thursday strongly condemned the killing of a Rajasthan-based bank employee by Islamic militants in the Valley and hit out at the Central government for its alleged failure to ensure the safety of the people. Terrorists have killed Vijay Kumar of Rajasthan in the Kulgam district of the valley. This is the eighth case of target killing in the Valley since May 1. Manager Vijay Kumar is the third Hindu employee to be killed by terrorists. 

Officials said Kumar was posted as a manager at the Areh Mohanpora branch of The Lakhai Dehati Bank in the south Kashmir district. He was seriously injured by a bullet injury and succumbed to his injuries while being taken to hospital. Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee chief spokesperson Ravindra Sharma said the party expresses deep sorrow over the killing of Vijay Kumar and heartfelt condolences to his family. He said the incident calls for immediate and effective measures to save innocent lives in Kashmir.
