Jerusalem: Amid the ongoing confrontation with Palestine, a senior level Israeli defence force (IDF) official has made a major revelation claiming that journalists living in Gaza of the Associated Press (AP) had good relations with Hamas. According to the Times of Israel, AP journalists used to drink 'morning tea and coffee' with Hamas militants in the media building that was blown up by IDF in an air strike.
In fact, on May 15, 2021, in an aggressive attack against Hamas, IDF bombed and destroyed the Al Jala Tower in Gaza, which had offices of several international media, including Al Jazeera and the Associated Press. After the counter terrorism operation, IDF had said that the Al Jala Tower, which had major international media outlets, was the house of the intelligence unit of the terror group Hamas. This is where Hamas monitored the activities of IDF through advanced electronic warfare devices.
Israeli Defence Force Chief Aviv Kohih has reportedly claimed that Associated Press men had inadvertently consumed morning coffee with Hamas electronics experts in the cafeteria at the ground-level of al-Jala Tower. However, the Associated Press denied the IDF's allegations, calling it "Absolutely false" and saying not a single cafeteria existed in the building.
