Moradabad: Shakur accused of raping a Dalit minor in Kundarki police station area of Murdabad in Uttar Pradesh, was arrested by the police on Saturday (May 29, 2021). The 15-year-old victim is a class VIII student. Shakur 25, had raped her on Thursday. He also threatened to kill the victim if she protested. According to media reports, the victim had left home on Thursday morning to defecate.

Meanwhile, the accused took her inside a shop. When the victim did not return home for a long time, the family members started a search for her. Meanwhile, the sound of her shouting came from inside a closed shop. On arrival of the family members, the accused fled the spot. A huge crowd gathered at the spot when they heard about the rape. The victim was found unconscious when sthe door was opened. She informed about the rape and said that the accused had threatened to kill her when she screamed for help. Police have registered a case against the accused under Section 376, SC/ST Act and POCSO Act of IPC. The victim's father works as a mason.

Police launched a search for the accused after recording the statement of the victim. Circle officer Desh Deepak Singh said, "The girl is a minor and studies in a school. The accused is 25 years old and has a furniture shop. The evidence was collected in the presence of the victim's family'. Tension has been prevailing in the area since the incident. In view of this, the police reached the spot and the SO of Kundarki pacified the people.
