Jerusalem: Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has agreed to a proposal to postpone the general election in view of the economic crisis in the country. In a virtual press conference on Sunday, Netanyahu announced that "this is the time to maintain the unity of the country, not to hold elections". We will propose to extend the deadline to 100 days. He said that this time is right for the Israeli economy.
If there were general elections this time, it would have been the fourth general elections in the country within two years. According to Israeli law, if the national budget is not approved within 90 days after the formation of the government, the Parliament is automatically dissolved. It is noteworthy that Netanyahu has three criminal cases of taking bribes, cheating and betrayal and the trial of these cases is going on. However, he has dismissed all the allegations against him.
Let us tell you that Israel is one of the few countries in the world that has controlled the global pandemic coronavirus to a great extent, but in Israel, new cases of corona infection have been increasing continuously for the last few days. Like other countries of the world, Israel's economy has been badly affected due to Corona.
