Israel, Morocco inks three Cooperation Agreements to strengthen ties

Israel and Morocco have signed three cooperation agreements, with the aim of strengthening the relations between the two nations. On Wednesday, visiting Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid and Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita signed the memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the establishment of mechanisms for political consultations, according to the report. These agreements relate to the fields of politics, culture, youth and sports as well as air services.

The first is an MoU on the establishment of mechanisms for political consultations which aims to contribute to the deepening and strengthening of the multifaceted cooperation relations between the two countries. The MoU also provides for the two countries to hold regular consultations to discuss various aspects of bilateral relations, in addition to exchanging views on regional and international issues of mutual interest and developments in the regional and international scene.

Bourita said the bilateral tie is becoming more dynamic, with the creation of five working teams covering research and innovation, tourism, aviation, agriculture, energy, environment, trade and investment. He also called for the resumption of negotiations between Palestinians and Israelis to reach a final, lasting and comprehensive solution based on the two-state solution living side by side in peace and security.
