A latest development in the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict has taken place as the first batch of foreign-passport holders embarked on their journey from Gaza to Egypt. This marks the first such instance since the outbreak of hostilities between Israel and Hamas last month, as captured by Arab TV channels.

The militant group Hamas, which exercises control over the Palestinian territory, had previously announced its expectations of allowing certain foreign passport holders and dual nationals to exit Gaza and enter Egypt. To facilitate this process, Hamas released a list that included individuals working for the International Committee of the Red Cross, as well as nationals hailing from Australia, Austria, Jordan, and Indonesia.

Furthermore, ambulances were observed making their way into the besieged enclave, as more than 80 wounded Palestinians prepared for transfer to Egypt for medical treatment. In response to this urgent need, authorities have established a field hospital in the North Sinai town of Sheikh Zuweid.

Egypt, serving as the sole non-Israeli controlled crossing point with Gaza, plays a vital role as a lifeline for essential humanitarian aid destined for the 2.3 million residents of the territory. It is noteworthy that over 8,500 Palestinians have lost their lives during the ongoing conflict, according to reports from authorities in Hamas-administered Gaza.

It's important to mention that the United States and the European Union both designate Hamas as a terrorist organization.
