As the Israel-Hamas conflict continues to make global headlines, its repercussions have extended to India. In a recent development, an individual from Uttar Pradesh has found himself in hot water for allegedly posting objectionable content on social media concerning Prime Minister Narendra Modi in relation to the ongoing Israel-Hamas war.

The individual in question, identified as Danish Ansari, remains at large, prompting authorities to launch efforts to apprehend him. An FIR was lodged against Ansari at the Hafizganj police station on a Sunday evening. Reports quote Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Mukesh Mishra as stating that Ansari, hailing from Kunwarpur Banjaria, took to social media to share a significant number of objectionable posts related to the Israel-Hamas conflict.

It has been alleged that the content he posted was critical of the Prime Minister while expressing support for the Hamas terrorist organization. Consequently, he now faces charges under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Information Technology Act.

This incident is not an isolated one, as authorities have recently taken action against individuals for their social media posts pertaining to the Israel-Hamas conflict. Just the day before, on Saturday, a case was registered against two men for their online comments about the ongoing conflict. Notably, one of these individuals was arrested in Hamirpur district.

The Israel-Hamas conflict, which erupted with a surprise attack by the terrorist group on October 7, has witnessed a rising death toll. Unfortunately, there seems to be no de-escalation in sight, with the Israeli Defense Forces preparing for a potential ground assault into the Gaza Strip. To date, the conflict has claimed the lives of over 3,600 people.
