The Israeli army now controls the Palestinian side of the Rafah border crossing between the Gaza Strip and Egypt. They're searching the area for any threats.

The military stated that they've gained control over the Gaza side of the crossing and are actively searching for any terror-related activities. They're focusing their efforts on the eastern part of Rafah and have urged people to move to safer areas.

Since the strikes began on Monday, 20 militants have been killed. The Israeli military targeted Hamas militants in Rafah after the government approved the operation. This decision came even after Hamas agreed to a ceasefire proposed by Egypt and Qatar.

However, Israel felt the ceasefire didn't meet its demands, so negotiations continue. Qatar has announced sending a delegation to Cairo for further talks between Israel and Hamas.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office mentioned that while the ceasefire proposal wasn't satisfactory, Israel is still open to negotiations. The war started when Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, resulting in casualties on both sides.
