Growing casualties are being reported in the occupied West Bank as Israeli military operations extend their reach. In Jenin, these raids, now in their third day, have led to a rising number of injuries and deaths.

Since the outset on Tuesday, eight Palestinians have been reported killed in the Jenin refugee camp, as confirmed by the Palestinian Health Ministry. This surge in casualties adds to the grim toll of 58 lives lost, including children, in Jenin alone since October 7.

According to Kamal Abu al-Rub, Jenin’s acting governor, there's an increased influx of Israeli forces heading towards the city and the camp. This marks the 15th military incursion into the area since October 7.

Al-Rub expressed concerns over the situation, citing the destruction of access roads to the camp by military bulldozers. He highlighted the besiegement of hospitals, with ambulances being obstructed from evacuating the sick and injured.

Amidst the operations, around 500 individuals were detained, with approximately 400 subsequently released. However, due to the camp's isolation, those freed have been unable to return, seeking refuge in an area near Jenin.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society highlighted the dire conditions faced by citizens, reporting severe shortages of infant formula and bread. Israeli soldiers, stationed on the roofs of homes, are preventing residents from leaving, exacerbating the crisis.

Palestinian officials have reported a staggering toll: at least 283 West Bank Palestinians, including 64 children, have lost their lives to Israeli fire, while more than 4,000 have been detained since the conflict's onset.
