Trusted sources of ISRO have said that ISRO has started considering that if Vikram Lander could not be contacted, they would send the upgraded version of Vikram Lander and Pragyan Rover to Chandrayaan-3. The lander and rover going to Chandrayaan-3 will be equipped with better sensors, powerful cameras, state-of-the-art control system and more powerful communication system. It is also being said that the backup communication system can also be installed in all parts of Chandrayaan-3 so that the backup communication system can be used in case of any untoward incident.
