Just few days are left to world cup 2019 and selectors on Moday seletors have announced the 15-man Indian squad for the forthcoming ICC 2019 World Cup on Monday. But more so than them, there were certain players who weren't sure of their inclusion in the roster for the showpiece event. Among those few names was Dinesh Karthik who pipped Rishabh Pant to bag the reserve wicket-keeper's spot in the Indian team. Reacting to his inclusion in the team, Karthikreflected on his inclusion in the Indian team for the World Cup admitting that it's a dream come true moment.
Kartik told www.kkr.in, "I am very excited. It has been a dream for me to be a part of this team for a long time now," Karthik said. As a team, we have done some special things and I have been through that journey and I have really wanted to be a part of this team.” In a direct battle with Pant over the reserve wicket-keeper's berth, Karthik has his experience and wicket-keeping skills to thank for the selection.
The world cup 2019 will be starting in England and Wales on May 30, in what would be Karthik's second World Cup after the 2007 event. He wasn't a part of the Indian squad in 2011 and 2015.
