Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has recently met PM Narendra Modi. On Friday, he said, "It is not possible to enact a law guaranteeing Minimum Support Price (MSP) because if no one else buys the produce of farmers, the government will be under pressure to do so. You must be aware that after the return of agricultural law, farmers' organisations are now putting pressure on the government for msp law.
When questioned about the demand for MSP law from farmers, Khattar said, "There has been no discussion on it so far. Agricultural economists also have different views. It does not seem possible to legislate on this. The law on MSP is not possible, because if it is done, it will be the responsibility of the Government that if nobody buys their product, the Government will have to do so. He further said, "The government is not so much needed and it is not possible to create a system on it. We can buy as per the requirement. ''
Let me tell you all that Manohar Lal Khattar met PM Narendra Modi at his residence in New Delhi last Friday. After the meeting, he had tweeted that he had spoken on a number of issues besides development schemes in Haryana. He had written in a tweet, "Met respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji at his residence in Delhi today. He discussed in detail a number of important issues ranging from the current and upcoming development works in Haryana. ''
