Andhra Pradesh: The Low Pressure Area over Bay of Bengal lies centered 430 km east-southeast of Chennai and 420 km southeast of Puducherry. On Thursday morning, the Meteorological Department warned that it will further strengthen and intensify into a cyclone over southwest Bay of Bengal, resulting in heavy rains in parts of Andhra Pradesh. On the other hand it is raining heavily in Tirumala temple since last midnight.

Along with Tirumala temple, it was raining incessantly in the streets, cottages, parks, roads and housing complexes. At the same time, low-lying areas were submerged in rain water. Devotees are facing trouble due to heavy rains while temple staff are trying to motorize the rain water from around the temple, Madha lanes and laddu distribution centers.

Meanwhile, TTD officials warned motorists to slow down on the first and second ghat roads as heavy rains could lead to landslides on the Tirumala ghat road and gave several suggestions through mics at tollgates. The temperature has also dropped and the intensity of cold has increased in Tirumala, as a result of which devotees are confined to hostels.
