The Tamil remake of the film was composed in 1993 which saw Revathi in the lead role and Shabana in the film was the character of Kulbhushan Kharbanda's wife while Smita Ada the character of the second woman poem. Now, the recent reports suggest that Jacqueline Fernandes has been named to play the Smita Patil role in the remake.

According to a close source, Revathi is currently working on the script of the film before it starts casting and it is being reported that the makers had approached Jacqueline recently and she has liked her role and the concept as well. It is reported that Jacqueline is excited to be a part of the film's Remek and has also agreed to the role.
