Foreign Minister Subramanian Jaishankar On Sunday while addressing a program, told the story of coming into politics. He said that one of the reasons for my involvement in politics is that I saw this government talking about reforms. For the first time, we have a government for which reform means nutrition, girl's education, services for the middle class. Then I felt that I should also contribute to improvement.
Apart from this, he said that under this government in the last five years, we have developed a system by which we take care of any Indian, anywhere in the world, if there is any problem. We are there for them.
For your information, let us tell you that after retiring from the post of Foreign Secretary, Jaishankar took over as the chairman of Tata Group's Global Corporate Affairs. Jaishankar has received the Padma Shri award from President Ramnath Kovind. In the Narendra Modi cabinet, veteran diplomat S Jaishankar has also been a representative of India in talks with China and the US. Jaishankar has also served as India's ambassador to the US and China. Jaishankar, a 1977-batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer, was instrumental in resolving the crisis with China following the Ladakh's Depasang and Dokalam standoff. Jaishankar has also served as the High Commissioner of India to Singapore and as Ambassador to the Czech Republic.
