Arun Jaitley, the BJP's hardliner leader from Jammu, was closely associated with him. At times, New Delhi also emerged as the custodian of the interests of the state. In particular, he took the fight for the interests of Jammu. As the leader of the All Students' Council, Jaitley came to Jammu and Kashmir to protest against Article 370 from his youthful state. He was the son-in-law of late Girdhari Lal Dogra, a veteran Congress leader and former MP. After marrying Sangeeta, daughter of Girdhari Lal Dogra in 1982, Sangeeta became a special link with Jaitley from Jammu. He used to attend the program on his death anniversary every year. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also attended the event. Through these programmes, Jaitley has been conveying to the residents of Jammu to continue to work for the benefit of the society and the country. 

Arun Jaitley played a key role in the BJP's movements on the interests of the state. At the same time, he continued to defend the interests of Jammu as a member of the Parliamentary Parties during the tenure of the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha. Later, as Finance, Law and Defence Minister in Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Narendra Modi's Cabinet, he also contributed to the strengthening of the development, security arrangements in Jammu and Kashmir. Former Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh says Arun Jaitley has been active in the state since 1978. We used to call him the BJP's Chanakya. He has played a special role in deciding the BJP's strategy for elections in Jammu and Kashmir. It was because of his contribution that the BJP continued to strengthen in the state. J&K played an important role in connecting Jammu and Kashmir firmly with the country.

In his statement, Dr. Nirmal Singh said that Arun Jaitley was also consistently advocating the removal of Articles 370 and 35A in Jammu and Kashmir. He was involved in all the programmes to strengthen the nationalist people in Jammu and Kashmir. After joining the Union Cabinet, he paid full attention to the interests of the state. His ministries paid special attention to accelerating development in Jammu and Kashmir. His father-in-law is in Paia village of Hiranagar in Kathua district. He also has a lot of relatives in Jammu. His wife Sangeeta Jaitley, who was heavily influenced by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, inspired the welfare of the people. The daughter of Jammu, who was constantly visiting the place, also advised the representatives of the society to work for the people. Under his supervision, events in memory of the late Girhari Lal Dogra are organised on behalf of the Family Trust.
